Forestview senior Preston Lyon, front center, signed to play baseball at Pfeiffer.

Lyon, a two-time team MVP and all-conference selection, batted .349 as a sophomore and .417 last season as a junior. He also had two home runs, eight doubles, 19 RBIs, 12 stolen bases and a school-record 40 hits last season.

Lyon was recruited as a middle infielder. He also received scholarship offers from Limestone and Tusculum and was offered a walk-on spot at Virginia Military Institute.

Seated with Lyon are his mother, Kris Lyon, left, and father, Keith Lyon. Standing, from left, are Forestview principal Robert Carpenter, baseball coach Brian Horne and athletic director Alan Stewart.
