2024-2025
In the second year of legalized NIL in North Carolina high school sports, the landscape saw steady growth across the board as the number of deals increased from 17 to 24. This expansion reached more participants, with the number of athletes securing agreements nearly doubling from 12 to 21 and the count of participating schools rising to 18. While these figures show a positive upward trend, the total participation remains very modest when measured against the state’s massive pool of over 200,000 student-athletes and 446 schools, indicating that NIL activity is still in its early, niche stages.
