School Profit Sharing Policy

Varsity NC shares a portion of every subscriber's payment with their high school's athletics program — directly supporting the athletes, coaches, and facilities that make sports happen at the school level.

Why We're Doing This

High school athletics programs rely on funding for equipment, facilities, coaching, field maintenance, and sports scholarships. These programs matter — they are where athletes compete, grow, and build the careers that follow them into college and beyond.

Varsity NC is the central hub for North Carolina high school sports coverage. When you subscribe, you're not just getting premium content — you're also contributing directly to your school's athletics program. A portion of every payment goes back to your Base School to help them keep their teams competitive, their fields ready, and their athletes supported.

We believe that the platform serving sports should also help sustain them. This isn't a marketing claim — it's a real dollar amount sent to real schools, every month.

Eligibility & Rules

Base School Selection

Each subscriber selects a single Base School in their account settings. This is the school they attend or are most closely affiliated with. All contribution payments are attributed to this school. If no Base School is selected, the subscriber's payments do not contribute to any school — but they can select one at any time.

Full-Price Payments Only

Contributions are calculated only on payments made at full price — with no coupon, promotional discount, targeted offer, or email domain discount applied. This ensures the school receives a meaningful share of actual revenue, not reduced promotional pricing.

No Contributions on Refunded Payments

If any refund — partial or full — has been issued on a payment, that payment does not count toward the school's contribution. The subscriber's contribution amount reflects only payments that were completed and not refunded.

One School Per Subscriber

Each subscriber contributes to exactly one school — their Base School. Subscribers can change their Base School in settings, but payments made before the change are attributed to the school that was selected at the time of payment.

How Schools Receive Funds

Varsity NC administrators generate school payout reports on a periodic basis — monthly, annually, or per school year. Each report aggregates all eligible contributions from subscribers who have selected that school as their Base School during the reporting period.

Payouts are reviewed and approved by platform administrators before sent to schools. Each payout record tracks the period, eligible revenue, contribution amount, subscriber count, and status (pending, approved, sent, cashed).

Schools receive the contribution amount calculated as $1 per qualifying monthly payment and $5 per qualifying annual payment from their subscribers — not a percentage of gross revenue. This fixed-per-payment model ensures predictability and fairness.

Transparency

Subscribers can view their personal contribution total at their dashboard under Billing & Plan. This shows exactly how much has been contributed to their Base School, broken down by payment. Administrators have access to detailed per-school reporting and CSV exports for full audit trails.
