In the 2A Women’s Championship, Cummings won its third straight Track and Field Championship and ninth overall, 45 points clear of T.W. Andrews in second place. They were led by D’Anna Cotton, who was named the Most Outstanding Performer once again. She was the MOP at the Indoor Championships this winter as well as at the 2024 NCHSAA 2A Track and Field Championships. Cotton won the Triple Jump (by nearly two feet), the High Jump, the 300 Meter Hurdles, and took second in the 100 Meter Hurdles. Cumming’s freshman Kaili Payne won the 100 Meter Hurdles and Diamond Moore won the Long Jump. T.W. Andrews’ Sanai Johnson, Valeria Gainey, Kemora Turner-Williams, and Mariah Hoy won the 4×200 Meter Relay, and Johnson, Gainey, Hoy, and Jamya Brand won the 4×100 Meter Relay. NCSSM Durham finished in third place, powered by Catherine Parker’s win in the 1600 Meter and the 4×800 Meter Relay team, including Parker, Caroline Downs, Charlotte Goeble, and Moira Furr, which also took the top spot.
